Walsall Academy of Dance
A family run dance school for over 50 years, we offer classes for children aged 2½ upwards along with separate classes for adults. We teach a multitude of dance disciplines, including Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft and Modern, and there is a structured examination process allowing all pupils to gain dance qualifications. Classes are designed to ensure that every child has the attention they deserve and therefore achieve their potential. We believe that a good dance education provides much more than the ability to perform movement; the students we train are dedicated, have an excellent work ethic and commitment and therefore become role models and ambassadors for the youth of today.
All students at Walsall Academy of Dance are invited to participate in a show every two years and dancers from every part of the school are regularly asked to participate in events around the Walsall Borough, for example, dancing at the Mayors Easter Breakfast, performing to audiences at Rotary Club parties and at various Cabaret events.
Upon reaching a high enough level of ability, students are encouraged to become teaching assistants; this furthers their development, not just as dancers, but as a person as a whole.
Walsall Academy of Dance has a long running list of former student success stories. Our former pupils have appeared in Oklahoma, Cats, Les Miserables, Starlight, Billy Elliot, So You Think You Can Dance, starred in the Phantom of the Opera and performed in the Moulin Rouge and recent students have been accepted with scholarships to Laine Theatre Arts, Tring Park, and Northern Ballet School.
