The West Yorkshire School of Performing Arts

The West Yorkshire School of Performing Arts (WYSPA) was established over 30 years ago by
Principal Karen Fawcett. Based in Guiseley, West Yorkshire the school originally started with just one
class and has steadily grown into the school it is today, developing an amazing reputation for excellence in
dance teaching. WYSPA is the perfect place to train if you would like a career in dance or simply to come for
enjoyment and fun.

WYSPA operates out of its own purpose built premises; the studios have fully sprung floors all designed to give children the best possible setting to thrive and develop in a safe environment.
All the teachers at the school are trained to the highest standards and all have full DBS Certificates. The teachers are all extremely passionate and have a love of dance that is clear to see while watching them teach
and inspire a new generation of dancers.

As pupils progress through the school they have the opportunity to take regular dance and Singing exams.
Pupils have won numerous awards at local and national dance competitions a true testament to the high levels of teaching the school offers. WYSPA also regularly run their own performances in local theatres where children get the opportunity to shine on stage to large audiences.
