Welcome to Arabesque Dance and Theatre Academy, situated between Derby and Nottingham in the heart of Long Eaton’s town centre. We specialise in a wide range of dance classes for both children and adults throughout Long Eaton and the surrounding areas.
Established in 2008, with a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of dance teaching, we provide dance classes for all ages and abilities in a large variety of dancing styles; and in doing so, we strive to offer a safe, secure, enjoyable and caring environment in which to train our pupils in the art of dance.
We are an approved centre of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA), and offer examinations, bi-annual shows, festival/competition participation and local community performances. We also now provide Singing Examinations with the London College of Music.
From our fully equipped studios in Long Eaton’s market place, Arabesque Dance and Theatre Academy ensures that every one of our pupils achieve their full potential, whatever their age or ability.
Every member of our staff is fully qualified, trained in First Aid and is CRB checked.
Private dance tuition also available for those pupils striving to develop their dancing skills or gain professional dance teaching qualifications.

Three years on and the Academy continues to grow from strength to strength gaining many fantastic achievements along the way. With over 100 pupils attending classes each week the Academy is the perfect place for both children and adults to enjoy all forms of dance.
Katie Hardy A.I.D.T.AAssistant TeacherKatie is a valid member of the Arabesque team teaching Street, Freestyle, Adult classes and festival/competition lessons at the Academy. Katie and Kerry trained together from an early age, travelling and performing in many venues across the UK. They remain very close friends and work together as an excellent team. Katie has recently graduated from Derby University where she completed her Sports & Exercise and Science & Studies degree. Katie is an associate freestyle and Tap member of the IDTA and is currently working towards more professional teaching qualifications whilst freelance teaching at many other schools across the East Midlands and even runs her own after school street dance clubs.
Hollie Dawson A.I.D.T.ABallet TeacherHollie has been dancing since the young age of 6 and has completed all of the RAD ballet grades as well as sitting examinations in modern jazz, tap, freestyle and competed in many festivals across the Midlands. She knew she wanted a career in dance and so went on to train full time at Bodywork Company Dance Studios (Cambridge Performing Arts) before starting to work towards her teaching exams. After finishing her Associate in Ballet, Hollie went to teach in New Zealand for just over 2 years before returning to the UK to continue with her dancing. She's hoping to complete her advanced IDTA and RAD exams as well as continuing to work towards her professional teaching qualifications and is looking forward to joining our teaching team in September where she will begin by teaching pupils ballet on a Saturday.
Tom HawleyStreet Dance and Break Dance TeacherTom Hawley is a fresh, young Break and Street dancer from Nottingham. Tom has plenty of experience as a choreographer, teacher and dancer travelling and teaching in all areas across the UK. As a Dancer he has gained many awards in the Break dance battle scene. He has won numerous solo battles including the Leeds bboy King title 2 years back to back ( 2010 , 2011 ) and in 2012 he represented the UK as part of a 8 man crew in the Euro bboy finals! His teaching style in fun and energetic and he always aim to make sure all dancers gain as much as possible from his class's so they can push themselves to new levels of ability but most of all enjoy his classes! We are so pleased to welcome Tom to our teaching team from September 2013, teaching street and breakdance.
Mitch GambleSinging and Vocal CoachMitch Gamble is a 25 year old trained Musical Theatre Performer & Vocal Coach from Nottingham. With 5 years’ experience in teaching – both freelance and in Academies around the Nottingham / Derby area - Mitch works with LCM syllabus and has also gained himself LCM Full Diploma in Musical Theatre. Mitch has also taught at Academies in London - including the "Starz" Academy set up by West End Performer and Agent David Stinson. With over 15 years of experience on the stage behind him leading shows such as "Jesus Christ Superstar" (Jesus) and "Beauty & the Beast" (Gaston), Mitch not only teaches singing but through his training you will gain valuable knowledge about the industry itself.
Joseph MillerProfessional Choreographer & DancerJoe, originally from Derbyshire in the UK, has been touring the globe with Spirit Productions since 1999. His credits include Principal Irish dancer 'Danny Boy' in 'Spirit Of The Dance' (World Tour) as well as working with celebrities such as Dolly Parton and The Osmonds. He was also part of the original cast for 'Shake ,Rattle and Roll' (USA), 'Hooray For Hollywood' (USA) and 'Spirit Of Christmas' (UK, USA & Asian Tour). He has appeared on many different TV shows and has also been Dance Captain and Company Manager on various productions. When Joe is not performing, he is heavily involved in choreographing and teaching at dance colleges and schools across the UK, recently adding Arabesque Dance and Theatre Academy to his list. Joe is currently headlining in Monte Carlo in Spirit of the Dance and is thrilled to be returning to China in September and joining the cast of 'Red, Hot Broadway' !
