Buzz Theatre Arts pride ourselves on offering the best technical training for dancers from the age of 2.5 upwards. We believe that by combining our fully qualified and highly motivated teaching staff with a nurturing, positive, inclusive environment, young people can go as far as they want in the dance world.
We offer a wide variety of dance styles; ballet, tap, freestyle, theatre craft, modern jazz, contemporary, commercial and musical theatre. At Buzz we understand that not everyone wants to go on to be professional performers and therefore we cater for all abilities. However, for those that are serious, we offer our Company Programme for gifted and talented pupils.
Buzz are very proud to follow the I.D.T.A syllabus for our classes, meaning that our pupils progress through I.D.T.A examinations, should they choose to take them. We believe that offering our students the opportunity to perform has great benefits in their development, therefore we produce two shows per year, in professional theatres, for all pupils that wish to take part. We also regularly host master classes and workshops from some of the best choreographers and teachers around. This ensures that our pupils gain training and skills on a par with anything else available in the UK today.
At Buzz we love to see pupils dance and perform in environments that they can enjoy themselves, grow and improve. This is what sets us apart from the rest.

At a young age Emma knew she wanted to teach and set about gaining teaching qualifications with the I.D.T.A and also gaining a Ba (Hons) in Dance.
Emma set up her dance school at age 18 and it has grew from a few students in a church hall to over 250 students in our own premises.
Aside from teaching at Buzz Emma has lead a lot of dance development work in the North East of England, promoting participation in dance to those who would not normally be given the opportunity. Emma has a passion for working with children and adults with disabilities and promoting the benefits of taking part in dance. This ensures that all classes at Buzz are fully inclusive.
Emma also loves to choreograph and enjoys the challenge of mass movement choreography. You will see her work on Newcastle’s New Year’s Eve Parades.Emma’s passion is to instill a love of dance to young dancers, she loves to teach all ages and all abilities at ours studios.
Chantal McCartneyBallet, Tap, Theatre Craft, Modern Jazz, Commercial, ContemporaryChantal trained at Reavley Theatre School from the age of 3, she started helping in classes at age14 and completing I.D.T.A teaching qualifications as soon as she could. She has performed professionally from age 18 years.
Chantal juggled teaching and performing before becoming a member of the team at Buzz Theatre Arts, performing has now taken a back seat to enable her to give our students her all.
Chantal loves to choreograph and is employed by many professional companies as their resident choreographer which keeps her up to date within the entertainment industry.
At Buzz Chantal teaches lots of styles of dance and teaches all ages and abilities.
Lauren O'HareMusical Theatre/SingingLauren is a musical theatre and singing teacher at Buzz. She is a very experienced teacher and also performs professionally.
She has trained to Grade 8 LAMDA Musical Theatre Singing, Distinction and is currently studying towards DipLCM Musical Theatre Performance.
Lauren has many professional credits and most recenetly performed as Anna in Sing A Long Frozen UK tour!
At Buzz it is Lauren's job to ensure our students can become triple threat performers and can sing, act and dance!Shona HayesMusical Theatre/SingingShona trained at Buzz Theatre Arts and is currently studying for teaching qualifications with us.
At Buzz Shona is part of our gifted and talented programme and has studied all forms of dance to a high standard but Shona excels in Musical Theatre.
Shona teaches musical theatre to our youngest students and is loved by all for her friendly and very enthusiastic approach to class.
