Dance Passion - Emma Walkland School of Dancing

I began dancing at the age of 5 and successfully completed all of my I.D.T.A dance examinations in freestyle/street, rock and roll, ballroom and latin to a high standard. My teaching career started from the age of 16 and I am a fully qualified Associate I.D.T.A dance instructor. Working within a large successful dance school in Sheffield I have taught classes in latin, salsa, street/freestyle, rock and roll and cheerleading to both adults and children of all ages and abilities. I have trained children and adults in preparation for examinations, shows, competitions and auditions, and I have also taught National Curriculum key stages in schools. I am passionate about teaching and seeing the children develop their skills and grow in confidence is the most rewarding part.
We have competed professionally in latin dancing gaining many illustrious titles, to include Stars of the future and Champions of tomorrow winners. We were also British finalists competing at the prestigious winter gardens in Blackpool and rubbing shoulders with strictly stars!
I have toured with tribute band Enrique, performed lead lady in The Masked Cabellero with the devils horseman at the British show jumping Championships, and performed on stage with Take That!
My vast dance background enables me to choreograph our freestyle dance teams in schools, and there is nothing more satisfying then seeing the children have the opportunity to shine and nail their performance through hard work and dedication and an enjoyment and talent for dance!
