DanceWorks prides itself on providing young dancers with truly excellent training in a broad range of dance styles.
Students are offered classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Gymnastic Dance, Freestyle and Musical Theatre. We teach our students to develop their individual potential in a challenging yet encouraging environment.
We focus on developing technique, strength, flexibility and musicality in preparation for IDTA Grade examinations, which are held throughout the year, and public events including our annual theatre show.
Also we offer a totally new, fun & funky dance class – It’s Poptastic!

- Jacqui Morgan (ARAD, L.IDTA)Principal
Jacqui began her training at age six attending a private ballet school in the West Midlands. She trained all the way through the Royal Academy of Dancing syllabus up to Solo Seal. At age eleven she was awarded a scholarship with the RAD, which she held for 5 consecutive years. She won the Carshalton Cup for Best Scholar in 1984 at the age of sixteen.
She became a junior member of the West Midlands Youth Ballet aged ten, and was soloist in the company by the age of fifteen.
Jacqui has been teaching classical ballet in Sotogrande since 1994 and in 2004 established DanceWorks as a multi-disciplined dance school, incorporating the IDTA syllabus examination grades into the weekly schedule of classes. DanceWorks students also perform in a local professional theatre and Jacqui directs, coordinates and choreographs for this spectacular amateur event.
In April 2006 she opened the DanceWorks Studios in Sotogrande, giving the school and its students a permanent home to work and grow fromAmie Gunn (LIDTA)TeacherAmie began her dance training at the age of four at the Cardwell Theatre School, and Graduated in 2010 from Phil Winstons Theatreworks, Blackpool.
As a young dance student she achieved a superb standard in her training and her accolades include:
• Miss Dance Finalist 2007 & 2008
• North West of England Senior Ballet Champion 2007 & 2008
• UK Dance Championships – 2008
• ITDA Theatre Awards nominee 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2010
She holds a Diploma in Musical Theatre an Associate teaching qualification in Tap & a Licenciate in Jazz with the IDTA.
She has previously taught around the north of England in various dance schools and vocational colleges as well as teaching overseas at a dance school in Grand Cayman.
Amie has also performed from a young age around the UK in shows and productions for various companies including QDOS, Pantone and the BBC.
In July 2016 Amie was invited to join the DanceWorks teaching team and she took up the position formally in August 2016.She has performed in many shows throughout her years of training, and has been teaching a variety of classes alongside her training over the last 4 years.
Whilst at Theatreworks she successfully completed her IDTA syllabus examinations up to Advanced 2, Performers level.Clair also gained her IDTA teaching qualifications to Associate level in Modern Jazz and in Ballet and the IDTA diploma in Anatomy and Physiology.
In July 2013 Clair was invited to join the DanceWorks teaching team and took up the position formally in October 2013.
