Our head office is housed in a purpose-built facility in Market Weighton, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, where we have continued to develop into a training institution that meets the demands of this most competitive but rewarding market place – the performing arts. Miss Emma is renowned for her energy, enthusiasm and humour when teaching, and her passion and dedication for helping all pupils to achieve their potential.
Miss Emma started dancing at age 4 and competed in dance competitions for ten years, winning an extensive collection of medals, including runner-up in the North Yorkshire Senior Modern Championship
She started classroom assisting at age 11 and began training as a teacher at age 14
Miss Emma obtained her first IDTA teaching qualification, Pre-Associate Ballet, at age 16, and currently holds an IDTA Fellowship for Tap. She became a fully qualified IDTA teacher at age 18
At the age of 18, Miss Emma was successful in gaining a place in a can-can troupe which toured the UK, attending large conventions and private functions. From this Miss Emma went on to run her own successful cabaret troupe, ‘Wicked’, in which she performed alongside two other dancers. This took her to many exciting locations across the UK. She also performed as a professional dancer in numerous other productions.
Miss Emma also holds a Distinction in Authetic Street Dance with Urban Strides and holds teaching certifications in Zumba, Bokwa and Street Fit. She is a fully qualified, in-demand Adjudicator for dance festivals, championships and Miss Dance of Great Britain.
Miss Emma also toured with the 2001 winner of BBC's ‘Star for a Night’, Mark Kerrins performing vocals and choreography to sell out audiencesChris KiddDirector of Education & QualityChris Kidd trained at London Studio Centre and has toured the world teaching, choreographing and performing in countries such as the UK, Brazil, Canada, France, Portugal, Holland, Belgium, and the United States.
As a performer his stage and screen credits include Breakout, Spirit of the Dance, Disney, Magical Rhythms, Colours, America Hurrah, Campfires Burning, Can you Hear the Music, Mojo, Memories, On Screen, The Understudies & Nine Days Sarah.
Since leaving live performance Chris moved into choreography and creative direction, having created work for festivals, events, album launches, dance companies, musicals, pantomime, dance students in training and sports events. He spent a number of years as the Dance Artist in Residence at the University of Edinburgh where he created a number of professional choreographic works. During this time he developed a new choreographic methodology for Dance utilising Socractic Circle methods and also gained an MSc in Dance Science and Education.
Chris is now a Dance Education specialist having spend a number of years developing, monitoring and evaluating Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre within the national curriculum. He has been a curriculum leader of Dance & Musical Theatre for one of Scotland's largest performing arts departments and co-founded a full time advanced training course for professional dance in Edinburgh.
