We not only offer our pupils the highest quality theatre dance classes and the option to take the IDTA’s internationally recognised dance qualifications, we also offer students the chance to participate in our annual dance showcase, be part of a professional pantomime and many other exciting theatre and event performances.
With ex-students going on to full-time performing arts colleges, into professional work on cruise liners, national and international tours, on TV and in the West End – we have a proven track record for success.

Joanne Banks founded The Joanne Banks Dancers in 1990 following a professional career that took her across the globe; dancing and singing in Europe and Asia. Joanne has worked to hard to secure a reptuation for high-quality classes and to offer her students inspirational opportunties to perfrom in large scale productions and professional theatres. Joanne believes everyone can find fun and friendship through dance.

- Foundation Degree Arts in Dance Teaching (BUCKS)Kay ClareyDirector of DanceKay Clarey joined The Joanne Banks Dancers as a pupil 20 years ago and has worked her way up to position of Director of Dance.
Kay has an excellent knowledge of all theatre dance subjects from pre-school to advanced level. She has worked extensively in both Primary and Secondary Education offering her advice, knowledge and skills to support dance in schools.
Kay ensures that all her pupils, whether in school or in the studio reach their potential and uses her sparkling personality to deliver classes that are challenging and inspiring but above all fun!
- IDTA Associate Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft, Gymnastic Dance DipRaegen McCourtDance TeacherRaegen McCourt has danced with The Joanne Banks Dancers from the age of 5, taking part in dozens of shows, pantomimes, events and productions.
Raegen has a thorough knowldege of the IDTA Theatre branch syllabus and is a generous and humble teacher and an experienced performer.
- IDTA Pre-Associate Tap (1 & 2), Theatre Craft , Modern Jazz, BalletJasmin BrownDance TeacherJasmin Brown joined The Joanne Banks Dancers teaching staff after successfully completing a Degree in Performing Arts from Cumbria University.
A former JBD pupil, Jasmin has studied Ballet, Tap, Theatre Craft, Modern Jazz, Musical Theatre, Gymnastic Dance, Contemporary and Body Conditioning.
Jasmin is the main facilatator of primary dance support on the JBD Staff.
- BA (Hons) Performing ArtsJo HoltMusical Theatre Teacher (Drama and Movement)Jo Holt trained on the BA (Hons) Performing Arts degree at Middlesex University. Jo is a qualified Primary school teacher specializing in Music.
As a performer Joanne has worked extensively in Theatre in Education (TIE) and in Musical Theatre. She is not only a very knowledgeable and experienced instructor but also a capable and diverse performer.

- PGCE (QTS Primary)Suzanne RichardsonMusical Theatre Teacher (Singing and Voice)Suzanne studied at the Royal Northern College of Music gaining a Degree in Music.
She has worked professionally in Musical Theatre, performing in such shows as Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast and most recently in the National Tour of The Sound of Music.
Suzanne not only has a reputation as a gifted and talented performer but as a hard working and inspirational teacher and coach.
