Allen School of Dance and Performing Arts

At the Allen School, all the teachers are fully qualified, CRB checked and experienced in every subject they teach. The teachers get to know every child individually and by the regular attendance of our classes, will build confidence, discipline and poise, bringing out the best in each one. Whether classes are taken ‘as a hobby’, for fun or more seriously, the school prides itself that its pupils are taught with care and understanding, having the opportunity to reach their fullest potential, maintaining the high standard the school is well known for and above all having fun and enjoyment while learning to dance and perform.

Most of the schools pupils in the school dance one hour a week and perform to a very good standard. Others however, choose to do extra and competition classes and dance several times a week, some of these children go into dance and performing as a full time career.

Children may enrol at any time during the year. Ages taken are Pre-School (2 years) to Adult. All the teachers are very experienced in dealing with children, especially Pre-School.

The school holds regular examinations and pupils have the opportunity to perform on stage as part of the school show which is held every two years. This holds all the children and adults from all the various classes and branches within the school. There is also in the consecutive year, a Ballet show from the Classical Ballet classes and at various times over the course of these 2 years the Musical Theatre classes hold Flash Mobs, demonstrations and shows.

The school has, to date raised in excess of £90,000 for various, mainly local, charities. The most recent being in 2013 raising £6,210 to Boston Women’s Aid.
