Blackwell Dance Academy

The school opened its’ doors in 2004 with only a handful of pupils. It now has around 150 pupils and is growing from strength to strength. In 2010 it moved to its’ own purpose built and fully equipped studio based at ‘The Factory Studios’,Bournemouth. Most disciplines are taught by the school principal herself with Acro and Musical Theatre classes being taught by other leading professionals. Pupils can come along for fun or to follow a more serious pathway. All pupils have the opportunity to take part in the fabulous annual show along with many other events. The school participates in regular dance festivals with pupils often qualifying for the ‘All England’ regional finals. Pupils showing the required technique also have the chance to audition for the Junior/Senior Royal Ballet Associate programme. Pupils regularly go on to study at professional colleges in and around London before Pursuing a professional career. The school principal, Clare Mullins, is a highly qualified teacher with many years of teaching experience who had a successful career as a professional dancer and choreographer for over ten years.
