Simone School of Dance

The Simone School of Dance was established in 1981, and has continued to grow steadily ever since. At present we have 100 pupils and welcome all age groups, from adults down to children as young as two years of age. Classes are taught in a friendly and relaxed manner and cover a wide range of disciplines including Classical Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Modern Dance, Musical Theatre, Freestyle, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Arco Dance. At present we hold classes at two venues; Hampstead House, West Heath and Cheswick Green Village Hall, Solihull.

The School’s principal, Simone Wallis, began her dancing career at the age of six, at Jane Fisher School of Dance and completed her training at Lehminski School of Dance, gaining her teaching qualifications from the International Dance Teachers Association (I.D.T.A). The School has staged a wide variety of productions, and has also taken part in festivals, competitions and summer fetes with performances at Saddlers Wells Theatre, Her Majesty’s Theatre and the Royal Albert Hall. The pupils always perform extremely well, directing all their energies towards ensuring that every production is successful. Their efforts are clearly illustrated by the excellent results they have obtained in various examinations over a number of years. Many pupils of the School have furthered their dance training and have studied to gain qualifications from the I.D.T.A.

2019 sees Simone become a lifetime member of the I.D.T.A after qualifying 40 years ago.
