
The Midlands Academy of Dance & Drama (MADD)
Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama (MADD) was founded in 1967 in Nottingham by the current Principal Frances Clayton who is a Fellow and Examiner in the Theatre and Freestyle faculties of the IDTA and also a member of the Board of Directors. Part time classes are offered on a weekly basis (3yrs to 16yrs) and full time professional courses from one year to three years (from 16 yrs onwards )are also available. The school is accredited by the council for dances,drama and musical theatre, and the Three year Musical Theatre Diploma course is validated to deliver the Level 6 Trinity qualification which can be topped up to a full BA Hons degree at any time following graduation. Entry is by audition for the full time courses and registration only for the part time classes. The school has it’s own Theatre also. Highly qualified tutors are employed across dance, acting, singing, and musical theatre genres.
