It was while attending Meersbrook Bank Junior School that Miss Perry had the ambition of having her own dance school called ‘The Sylvaine School of Dance’, the name combining both her first names: Sylvia and Elaine. Established in 1987, the Ruth Marsh School of Dancing now has around 130 pupils. Classes are small and friendly and all abilities are catered for.
