BDC is a post 16 full time performing arts college offering students the opportunity to continue their academic journey, this vocational course, equivalent to three A levels, covers all areas of the performing arts from management through to performance. Preparing students for the professional performance world or alternatively higher and further education.
Students study all aspects of the performing arts and are skilfully guided through the two year level 3 BTEC qualification carrying a maximum of 420 UCAS points.
It is our aim at BDC to help students reach their full potential and to provide the training needed to achieve this. Upon graduation students will be helped either into the professional working industry or alternatively further education should they so wish. Students lodge with local families if they are not within daily travelling distance

- George HillArtistic Director and Head of Ballet
Born in Bath, George started dancing at his mothers dancing school the Susan Hill School of Dancing in Bath. He then continued his training at The Royal Ballet School in London. Upon graduation George went on to dance throughout Europe joining the Dutch National Ballet in Amsterdam and later the Dresden Semperoper Ballet in Germany dancing as a soloist as well as guesting in America and Asia. Most recently George was in the word premiere of McQueen The Play in London’s Westend. His repertoire includes: The Sleeping Beauty, La Bayadere, Swan Lake (A. S. Watkin after M. Petipa); Illusions like Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, Daphnis and Chloe (J. Neumeier); Cinderella (S. Celis); The Firebird (A. Liepa after M. Fokine); Don Giovanni, Scheherazade (K. Pastor); Monotones II, Les Patineurs (F. Ashton); Ginastera (R. Van Dantzig); Sinfonietta, Petite Mort (J. Kylian); Theme and Variations, Diamonds (G. Balanchine); Enemy In The Figure, The Second Detail, Artifact Suite (W. Forsythe); Empty House (J. Inger); Spazio Tempo (J. Godani); The Taming of The Shrew (J. Cranko); Voluntaries (G. Karen PaiseyBallet TeacherTraining at the Royal Ballet School, London, Karen joined the Royal Ballet and rose through the ranks to a principal dancer taken on leading roles. In addition to teaching at BDC, Karen works for the Royal Ballet School teaching their associate programme.
Katie HumprhiesTap, Contemporary and Jazz TeacherKatie trained at Performers College in professional dance and musical theatre. Upon graduation, Katie danced professionally in theatres and television studios internationally. Katie has performed alongside many famous artists including Kylie Minogue, Lionel Richie and S Club 7 to name a few.
Hannah RichardsMusical Theatre and Singing TeacherHannah trained in musical theatre at the Royal Academy of Music. She also holds a First Class Honours Degree in Drama and Film. As a performer, Hannah has worked with some of the countries top musical theatre performers including John Owen Jones, Jenna Russell and Hadley Fraser. She has appeared in concerts, cabarets and musicals nationally, and has sung with some of the UK’s leading orchestras. She has also featured as a soloist on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night is Music Night.
