The Pauline Cook School of Dancing offers the best training available by highly qualified instructors to help individuals achieve their personal goals.
We provide a full range of dance subjects for pupils from 3years to professional standards in safe and secure environments. The main school is based in a dueal studio building in Consett, with satellite schools in Stanley and Lanchester.
The school was founded in 1984 and is run by Mrs Pauline Cooper (neCook) is a fully qualified Dance Teacher of the I.D.T.A., the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Soc. of Teachers of Dancing.
Pupils have appeared in Professional and Amateur productions throughout the North East of England, as well as appearing many, many times at our local theatre in Consett. Pupils have also appeared at the Tyne Theatre Newcastle, Sunderland Emprie Theatre, the Gala Theatre in Durham and venues in London, Manchester, Blackpool and Southport while representing the school. Pauline is passionate about passing on her skills, as well as making dance enjoyable for all. She has trained many staudents to very high standards who in turn have won many major awards, some of whom have progressed to be professional performers and teachers in their own right.

Pauline Cooper is a Fellow of the International Dance Teachers Association, with teaching qualifications in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, (including Freestyle) Theatre Craft, Dance, Exercise and Line Dancing. She is a Full Member of the Royal Academy of Dancing with ballet qualifications' Specialising the in the Teaching of Children' and is the only registered teacher in North West Co. Durham. She is an Associate Member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, in Ballet, Tap, Jazz National & Ballroom. Also Pauline holds a Degree in Dance Studies.
She holds Accreditation Certificates in Zumba Fitness, Zumba Gold (for the older person), Zumbatomic (for children) Aqua Zumba and Bokwa and the new 'Fitsteps' exercise regime.
As with her staff, she holds a Police Clearance Certificate and Full chaperone Licence.Susan Kenney-TeesdaleFreeslance TeacherSusan is head of Modern Jazz, Tap and HipHop classes run within the school.
Susan was trained by Miss Pauline and progressed to Phil Winston's Theatre School in Blackpool where she qualified as an Associate of the International Dance Teachers Association..
Susan teaches Hip Hop and Street in many main stream schools within County Durham. as well as dancing professionally here in the North East of England. She has been Dance Captain with the Tyne Theatre Newcastle for 9 years training the junior dances for their annual pantomime.
Susan has recently opened her own school of dacning in the Newcastle area but remains an integral part of the Pauline Cook School of Dancing -
