  • The Jane Coleman School of Dancing offers a wide variety of dance styles for children and adults including Ballet, Tap, Contemporary Lyrical Jazz, Modern Jazz, Street Jazz, Ballroom and Latin American.
    Based in Burwash, Robertsbridge, Sandhurst, Stonegate and Etchingham, we run classes throughout the week and also offer holiday workshops and courses. Our dance show is held bi-annually with the whole school getting the chance to perform.
    ​Classes are suitable for all ages from 2 .5 years with a fun, caring approach, building confidence, musicality, grace and poise.
    ​We also offer private lessons for 1-2-1, Private group lessons and Wedding dance lessons.
    ​Selected students are offered the chance to enter exams with the IDTA syllabus.
    ​All teachers are fully qualified with the IDTA and are DBS registered.

  • Rachel Elliott
    Principal

    Miss Rachel (LIDTA) trained at Bush Davies Ballet school and went onto become a professional dancer and actress in many theatre productions all over the UK and Europe. She is an experienced teacher has been teaching children and adults to dance for over 30 years. Rachel is also a drama teacher based in Kent and is married to a professional comedian.

    Katie Dahlstedt
    Principal

    Katie trained at Corona Academy for performing arts and the went onto train at London Studio Centre in Musical Theatre. She was the former UK Ten Dance Champion in Ballroom & Latin American and competed globally representing the UK. After spending a couple of years teaching in California, she returned to the UK and taught at Pineapple Dance Studios and Danceworks in London. She now lives in East Sussex and teaches children and adults locally.

    Kate Riches
    Junior teacher

    Kate Riches studied dance under the late Jane Coleman and has qualified in all her IDTA examinations. She currently teaches in Battle Abbey Prep School and also alongside Rachel and Katie as part of her degree course.
