The Wendy Heywood School of Dance is located in the impressive hall of St Bartholomew’s School, a beautiful light and spacious area.
Whether children want to dance ‘just for fun and fitness’ or to pursue a career in dance, we have something to offer in an inclusive and caring environment.
Classes are held in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Theatre Craft, Freestyle, Street and Musical Theatre.
Children are accepted from 3 years of age through to Adult Professional level. Training follows the International Dance Teachers Association Syllabus with examinations sessions held regularly and the school is proud of the 100% pass rate.
Performance experience is essential to the dancer and school productions provide an excellent opportunity for pupils to gain confidence and showcase their talents in an exciting and enjoyable way.
All the teachers at the school are fully qualified and having been associated with the school for many years, are confident and experienced, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential whilst enjoying their time at class. Most of our pupils come through the doors as pre school children and we are sorry to see them leave at 18 to follow their dreams in their chosen career, many of them now professional dancers, actors and teachers.
