Prima Stage School, established in 1990, has become a highly respected local school. Operating mainly from fully equipped mirrored studios with sprung floors at Larkfield Leisure Centre we run 80 weekly classes with excellent, qualified teachers (all DBS checked). We recognise that every student is an individual and we are dedicated to bringing out the best in every child. Whether the aim is to improve coordination, to gain confidence and grace, to learn the joy of movement or to train for a career in dance • every child is important. We are always looking to help their natural abilities and talents flourish, whilst guiding them through new techniques and concepts that will broaden their vocabulary and underpin the foundations of their skill set.
In order to inspire and educate our students further, we offer many unique insights into the thrills of performance and production with annual performance opportunities at our local theatre.
We are also aware that children can only be stretched so far in a part-time school such as ours. With that in mind, we invite top London choreographers to do regular workshops in all areas of performance – these are open to all older students with occasional junior workshops. We also encourage suitable students to audition for outside companies such as English Youth Ballet; National Youth Ballet; local pantomime and Associate classes with top vocational colleges such as Laban Trinity Cat (Centre of Advanced Training) – this helps to widen their performance skills as much as possible.
