I began dancing at the age of 3 years at the Sylvera School of Dancing in Crayford, which is where I achieved my Assosiate dance teachers exam, however performing was my passion, I just loved to be on the stage doing exactly what I love to do. I soon became a teacher at Sylveras and really enjoyed it but I was also a student at Goodman dance centre in Dartford competing in competitions all over the country. I continued this up until the age of 16 when I then became interested in theatre.
I performed at the Erith playhouse in many pantomimes, plays and musicals. I was the asked to audition for DAODS and after being successful I performed in my first show...42nd Street, at the Orchard Theatre and then many more until I became a mum!
Still teaching and preforming I then made the decision to open up my own dance school which enjoy and love so much. I have loved teaching various styles of dancing and watching my students grow and develop into wonderful dancers. Some of my students have progressed onto dance college and performing in London shows which is a great achievement and an honour to be able to watch them preform and grow.Caroline LopezSenior TeacherI have danced since the age of 5, Ballet always being my passion. I trained at a Russian Ballet School in Beckenham until moving to Dartford as an adult and finding the Sylvera Dance School where I met Claire who was also a student then a teacher before opening her own school. After spending a few years attending class and performing in their annual shows at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford (and getting older!!) I decided I wanted to become a teacher and spent the next 4 years studying the in's and out's along with the technique of all the grades, passing my Intermediate Ballet and Student Teachers exams to finally gain my Assosiate teachers. I immediately began teaching at Sylvera's and Claire Buckley's and have continued to do so since.
I love teaching with a passion and there is nothing more rewarding than watching our young dancers progress and grow into the beautiful, talented dancers that we have seen over the years and I'm sure we will continue to see for many years to come.Stephanie EcclesTeacherAlso dancing since the age of 3 I have always known all I wanted to do was dance. After dancing for years and learning numerous styles of dance I reached 18 and went on to train for three years at The Centre of Performing Arts. During my time there I decided that alongside my professional dance training that I would do my teacher training in ISTD Tap and Modern and I'm now DDE qualified. I've been lucky to have had the experience of dancing in London at the annual college shows and in house performances but I also had the chance to preform a couple of times at London Dury Lane and The London Palladium which were absolutely amazing experiences.
Other performance work includes being a dancer in several operas at the Assembly halls, various pantomimes and also as a dancer in the first open theatre performance of Carmen at Leeds castle.
After college I became a qualified instructor of 'exercise to music' which means I can teach various fitness classes involving dance to make it fun and different. I try to involve this within our class to help keep them fit and also help them stretch to improve flexibility.
Taking my teaching exams is the best decision I could have made because I absolutely love to pass on my passion for dance onto the young pupils and watch them grow and enjoy it as much as I did and still do. -
