Hoylake School of Dance is a large theatre school based on the Wirral. We specialise in all aspects of classical and modern theatre training. Whilst offering the traditional core theatre subjects we are first to introduce the more up to date non traditional styles as well. Our school currently offers classes in traditional forms of dance Classical Ballet (RAD), Jazz & Tap (IDTA), Irish Dance (IDTA), Limbering & Contemporary Dance as well as Drama (LAMDA) & Singing classes. We also offer Street Dance, Commercial and Acro. We work from 6 state of the art purpose built studios with Harlequin sprung floors. We have former pupils studying full time at the Royal Ballet School Upper School, Tring, Italia Conte, Hammond, Liverpool Theatre School, Guildford School of Acting & Urdang Academy as well as many former pupils working professionally in the industry. We currently have 2 Junior Associates of the Royal Ballet School as well as a Mid-Associate.

- Clare Calder-BehzadiPrincipal
Clare trained at The Elliott-Clarke School of Dance and Drama and taught her first ballet class at the age of 14. At 16 she attended The West Street School for Classical Ballet and Performing Arts in Covent Garden, London. She also held several titles for Disco dancing (now called Freestyle) and worked on many professional shows at theatres such as the Liverpool Empire, Neptune Theatre Liverpool, Floral Pavilion and many more, performing in pantomimes and variety shows with various celebrities. At 16 she also performed in Yorkshire Television's production of Demob with Les Dawson, Gryff Rhys-Jones, Martin Clunes and Samantha (Janus) Womack. Clare was the Juvenile Co-ordinator for First Family Entertainment on their Christmas pantomimes at the Liverpool Empire for 3 years running, and has just finished 5 years on the North of England committee for the Royal Academy of Dance. Clare has been the school's principal since it opened 20 years ago.
Louise RutterPrincipalLouise trained at the Elliott-Clarke School of Dance and Drama then later at Hoylake School of Dance. She graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a degree in Creative & Performing Arts in 2004. She has taught dance and drama at Hoylake School of Dance for many years and was appointed Deputy Principal in 2006. Louise teaches right across the age ranges at the school and has also taught in several Primary & Secondary Schools across the Wirral. Louise worked professionally with the Everyman Theatre Company and also appeared in Brookside & Hollyoaks.
Charl Kelly-MohamedTeacherCharl has been part of HSOD since she was 6 and has been on the teaching staff for several years. She is a big part of the commercial side of the school sharing her passion for Contemporary and Street dance, as well as Tap & Jazz. She works on 4 of the school's competition teams and her enthusiasm is infectious!
Rebecca ChapmanTeacherRebecca has been a pupil at the school since the age of 4, she holds her Advanced RAD ballet exam (Merit) and Advanced Jazz (Distinction) is currently working for her Advanced 2 in both subjects. Rebecca joined the team in 2013 and was delighted to be offered a full time post in Sept 2015. She assists the principal with the preparation of candidates for the RAD ballet exams. Rebecca also holds her Gold LAMDA Acting exam (Merit).
