Cannock Academy was established in 1988 and has an excellent reputation for high quality dance training. Our emphasis is in provding classes which all pupils can enjoy whilst gaining confidence and a love of dance. Based in our own studios, we provide a safe and secure enviroment for all our pupils. The Academy has a successful festival competition team and regularly provides dancers for theatre productions in the local area . Many of our students have gone on to vocational schools including the Royal Ballet School, Elmhurst Ballet School,The Hammond School , Royal Academy of Dance college and Laine theatre Arts.
As well as providing for our gifted students looking for a career in dance Cannock Academy of Dance is very proud of the work we do with our students with special needs. The Academy currently holds an award from the Autistic Society in recognition of our work with our many pupils with autism and we have longstanding experience in teaching children with many different learning disabilities.
All our pupils are given the chance to take part in our annual show at The Prince of Wales Centre in Cannock which takes place over four evenings in July.

- Mrs Rachel BrittainPrincipal
Trained in ISTD, RAD and IDTA Rachel Brittain taught for local the Midlands arts Centre in Birmingham and local dance schools before founding Cannock Academy of Dance in 1988.Rachel has known from her first teaching experience that she had a passion for passing on her love of dance and technical knowledge . Rachel has seen the school grow in reputation and size and loves teaching all ages and abilities. Many of her past pupils have gone on tovocational schools and to have careers in dance and Rachel also runs a very successful teacher training course. Past pupils now have their own dance schools or are teaching freelance or in educational schools .
Rachel loves choreography and has choroegraphed for local theatre groups and and a blues band as well as choreographing for the school show and festival dances.
