Ingram Academy has been running since 2012, and within such a short space of time we have had many accomplishments including performing at Her Majesty’s Theatre London, Main Stage at the CYD Super Convention and Saddlers Wells Theatre in London. Students of ours also attend Royal Ballet Junior Associates, Elmhurst Associates, MIDAS and the Jazz Associates, which we are incredibly proud of. Students have also had the experience of working with the English Youth Ballet and the Birmingham Royal Ballet in Cinderella Dreams.
Our students regularly compete in a variety of genres in Festivals around the Midlands including All England Dance in Solos, Duets, Trios and Groups. Students who compete have a private lesson once or twice a week where they learn the choreography for the festivals, and group rehearsals are once every week.
At the Academy we offer examinations with the I.D.T.A in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz, Street, Musical Theatre and R.A.D Ballet. The Academy also offer a class specifically for Kicks, Turns and Leaps, Adult Tap, Pointe Work and Acro. Students can also take classes in Contemporary and Lyrical.
Students have the opportunity to work towards their dance qualifications as well as take part in our School Shows, Competitions and Events. We believe that all children matter and encourage all children to participate in as many of our exciting opportunities as they wish. We have an incredibly supportive network at the Academy and students often refer to being part of the Ingram Family.
Our teachers have professionally trained at top institutions including Urdang (Kate) and London Contemporary (Gareth). Both main teachers have performance experience as well as a BA Hons Degree in Dance. Kate founded the school whilst working in mainstream education as Head of Department, and consequently has extended knowledge in her field.
