We are a dance school in Redditch / Studley area. Established for over 45 years and based at Studley Castle in Warwickshire, The Latham School of Dance offers dance classes to train aspiring performers in all aspects of Theatre Arts.
The main element of our School is FUN and this obviously reflects in the excellent results shown in Examinations and Competitions.
Our classes are for both boys and girls, and we cater for all ages from 3 upwards. We welcome beginners and more experienced performers alike, with classes varying in levels of expertise..

- Miss Sue LathamPrincipal Fellow, Examiner and Adjudicator of the International Dance Teachers Association. Adjudicator for the British and International Federation of Festivals. Adjudicator for the All England Dance Competition. Post Graduate Cert. in Adjudication.
Sue Latham trained with the late Madame Helena Lehmiski and after completing a teacher training course she taught at the Birmingham Theatre School. During this time she danced professionally in and around the Midlands.In 1966 she opened her first School in Birmingham, and was also asked to choreograph many productions and professional shows in the county. Twenty Eight years ago she opened a school in Redditch Worcestershire and, more recently, moved to premises in the grounds of Studley Castle in Warwickshire.As an Examiner and Adjudicator she has travelled to many parts of the World including Australia, Cyprus, Holland and Norway and, in the summer of 1998, she was asked to adjudicate the very first Dance Festival in Sri Lanka. This proved to be most successful and she was asked back again in 1999.Sue is also on the panel of adjudicators for All England Dance and has obtained her Post Graduate Certificate in Adjudication.
Miss Charlotte HortonAssistant Associate IDTAI started dancing at the age of seven at the Sue Latham School. I auditioned for the ‘The Midlands Academy of Dance and Drama’ and gained a full scholarship to the college. While I was there I represented the college at many events, including ‘Sheffield Music Festival’ where I danced alongside ‘Steps’, ‘Damage’, and others. I completed a Musical Theatre course with distinction and also gained more scholarships whilst attending MADD.
I have since performed across the globe aboard cruise ships and on ITV, Playing Stephanie from Lazy Town, Dancer on the X Factor tour and Britain’s Got Talent tour. I was backing vocalist for 911, Dancer and Head Girl on Stephen Mulhern’s Variety Tour and had principle roles in pantomimes in the UK. I was also a Production Manager in Spain, in charge of a team of over forty performers. I am a fully qualified Dance Teacher and Fitness Instructor but still love to perform most weekends in my own shows Truly ABBA and Girlz Rock.Miss Emily DalyAssistant Associate IDTARAD Registered Teacher Status RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching StudiesEmily trained with Sue Latham from the age of ten, taking part in many shows, festivals and performances in and around Redditch and beyond, including dancing at the Solihull Arts Complex and Her Majesty’s Theatre, London.
After studying at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Emily taught instrumental music in Reading and completed her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance, under the guidance of Monica Cleaver. During this time she taught ballet for Mo’s Dance and Drama Schools, with classes ranging from tots dance through to adult ballet. Emily also had the opportunity to run nursery movement sessions with children from twelve months, in addition to chaperoning for shows and assisting with exams and rehearsals.
Emily recently became an Associate Teacher of the International Dance Teachers’ Association and is enjoying teaching ballet and tap classes for Sue.
Mrs. Bev LaurieAssociate of The Internatiomal Dance Teachers Association.After successfully running her own Dance School in Solihull for many years, Bev decided to give up working full time in order to bring up her family, however she is always on hand to teach and is enjoying being involved again.
Miss Millie ColesAssociate IDTAMillie has been dancing since the age of three and has appeared in many professional productions her highlight appearing alongside Cliff Richard in Heathcliff. She was a Junior Associate with The Royal Ballet and danced with The English and National Ballet.
After studying Musical Theatre at Stratford College, Millie gained a place at the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom, and graduated in July 2012. She is currently touring and performing on the West End with “Dora the Explorer”. In her time off Millie enjoys teaching young talented pupils.
