Dancing has been a hobby since at a younger age and in the year 2002 I joined a dance school in Arima. However due to my other responsibilities at time, it was difficult to attend classes at the scheduled times. My love for dance was overwhelming and that inspired me to open a dance school of my own – “Club Castle Dance School” (because of its location at the time).
By contracting dance Instructors that were available and convenient to with my weekly schedule, classes in international & American style Ballroom and Latin dancing, as well as, Club styles dancing were being offered. And, so, October 6th 2004 my dance school, open its door to the public. As the class grew in size, the operations of the business began to clash with the privacy of our class sessions. A new location had to be found and that brought about the independent name change to of today –“Studio 7 Ballroom & Latin Dance School”.
As my experience in the various types of dances that were being taught improved, I began assisting the tutors during their classes. Thus the journey of my career as a Dance Instructor took off; this brought a new appreciation for the art and also a greater sense of satisfaction.
Slowly but surely, I ensured that the correct study materials were acquired from recognized institutes; training was sought from experienced, qualified teachers in the art; numerous dance workshops were attended. I conducted class work with students, preparing them for Medal Exams, performances and competitions. These classes brought about great success for everyone involved. I hold a Salsa Diploma, an Associate Degree in Ballroom dancing. Currently I’m perusing my Latin Associate Degree.
In addition to tutoring my class, I also work along with the youths of Five Rivers / Dinsley Police Youth Group and Lucia’s Private School. I’m an active member of the National Ballroom Dance Association of Trinidad & Tobago, the Professional & Amateur Dance Association of Trinidad & Tobago and the International Dance Teachers Association of England and Trinidad & Tobago.Adrian DanielHip Hop / Street/ Freestyle InstructorAdrian Daniel began dancing as a member of Votally Togue, a dance group that rocked the talent scouting ‘Party Time’ explosion in the early 90’s. In 2003, Adrian was handpicked along with five other local dancers to form high profile hip hop dance group Eclectik with the aim of penetrating the international market. The group copped five medals from the World Hip Hop Championships in Los Angeles including the gold medal in 2007.
Adrian joined Elle NYTT in 2009 with the intention of creating similar dance opportunities for young and upcoming hip hop dancers. He choreographed for and led Elle NYTT’s all girls hip hop crew, Cruelle, to place 3rd in the 2009 national T&T Hip Hop Champions in the Adult Category and further led them to represent Trinidad and Tobago at the World Hip Hop Champions that year. In the same year Adrian was picked to judge one of Trinidad and Tobago’s first reality dance series, BMobile Dance off. He has worked as a choreographer for the Carnival Presentations for Trini Revelers and for Kes the Band for 2009 and 2010.
