Unity Dance School has their very own, brand new and bespoke dance studio, located in Douglas on the Isle of Man. Our qualified teacher Linzi offers fun, relaxed dance classes with a friendly atmosphere whilst still maintaining a high standard in teaching. - Linzi BrownDirector & Choreographer
Linzi has been dancing since the age of 3, being experienced in Team Formation Dance, Morris, Pom Pom Dance and Gymnastic Dance.
Linzi's experience in teaching started in 2004 as a choreographer, in 2009 she became a teaching assistant and in 2012 she progressed to became a trainer.
Linzi travelled to London in 2013 and studied the IDTA Freestyle Syllabus and became a qualified IDTA Freestyle Teacher. In May 2014 Linzi
became a fully qualified Cheerleading Coach with the IDTA and The British Cheerleading Association and also holds a Diploma in Stunting.
In 2015 Linzi gained a Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, and also self studied and became Licentiate Freestyle Qualified. Gaining a Distinction in all exams. In 2018 Linzi Became a fully qualified Acrobatic Arts Module 1 Teacher, gaining 100 % on the written and practical exam.
Linzi is a qualified First Aider and has attended a course on Safeguarding and Protecting Children.Gemma GawneAssistant Teacher Hip HopGemma has been teaching Hip Hop dancing now for 9 years on the Island. it’s a real passion of Gemma's that she loves sharing with the children at Unity.
Gemma has entered a team of Unity dancers into a Hip Hop UK competition in 2017 and gained a 3rd place team dance and the dancers gained 24 trophies! Gemma is also teaching more Hip Hop dancers for a competition this year and competes herself.
Gemma has taken part in Young Dancer of Mann and has put on her own shows!
Gemma is looking forward to completing her teachers qualification in 2018.Lily ConcannonStudent Teaching AssistantLily has been dancing for many years. Studying Ballet, Tap, Modern, Freestyle and Cheerleading. Lily loves to travel to the UK and compete in the Cheerdance UK Competitions. Lily has been part of The UDS Elite stunt team which were finalists in The Next Big Thing Talent Competition on the Isle of Man, winning the Peoples Choice Award I'm 2018.
Dance has been a passion of Lily's for all of her life and at Unity, Linzi has given Lily the opportunity to become a teaching assistant with the younger dancers. Lily loves watching them progress and become better dancers. Dancing is something that Lily would love to carry on throughout her life. It is Illy's dream to be a dance teacher and Lily is looking forward to taking her Pre-Associate Teachers Exam in 2019 with Unity Dance School.Teare HunterReceptionist and Assistant TeacherTeare has been dancing since she was little and has won many awards with Ballroom dancing, when she was younger.
Teare has been at Unity since the school opened and is an asset to the school. Teare competes at our Cheerdance UK competitions and has had podium places and won many trophies. Teare gets involved in our pre-school classes and has a love for dance. Teare is looking forward to taking her teachers qualification in 2018.Eleanor MerrimanAssistant Stunt CoachEleanor is currently at University and is part of her Uni stunt team Edge Hill Xtreme and has achieved some amazing results. Eleanor is a flyer with her stunt group up to level 3 and brings a great fresh vibe to the class, with new ideas all the time. Eleanor helped UDS Elite achieve a final in a competition where they won people choice award.
