Quickstep To Dance (QTD) offers a range of opportunities for all students whether you are a beginner or a top competitor.

We hold lessons at various locations across the Nelson/Tasman Region and students can be assured that all lessons, whether they be private or a class, will be fun, inclusive and a real environment in which to learn the different styles of ballroom dancing.

QTD is also Nelson’s leading ‘First Dance’ specialist. Throughout the year we work with numerous couples to choreograph a routine specially for them to a piece music of specially significant to them thus making their ‘First Dance’ something to remember for years to come.

Paul Mullany

Principal - Ballroom, Latin, Classical Sequence & New Vogue

Paul the Principal of Quickstep To Dance who has been dancing for over 50 years started his dancing career in the UK. He is an IDTA qualified and Registered teacher and founded Quickstep To Dance following his move to New Zealand in 2009.

Since 2009 Paul has developed Quickstep to Dance into Nelson's leading Dance Academy for Ballroom dancing and has gained a reputation both locally and nationally for his teaching and technical skills.

Several of Paul's student couples who are in the competitive field have been successful in winning both National (NZ) and International titles.

Paul is known for his enthusiasm and fun approach to learning but moreover going that 'extra mile' for his students.
