Sami trained at the Laban Centre for Movement and Dance in London gaining a Diploma in Dance Theatre with Distinction in Teaching and Choreography.
Sami has danced since a young age and has always had a passion for dance especially choreography and teaching. She formed, choreographed and taught a self supporting successful amateur dance group which her sisters Jennifer and Sally were part of. This took all three of them across the country taking part in shows, competitions and charity events.
Sami opened Butterfly Dance Studios on her own 20 years ago and as the business grew was later joined by her younger sisters Sally and Jennifer.
Being the youngest of the Rudge sisters dancing has always been a natural part of Sally's life. It's in the blood! It started as a hobby at the age of 5 years and gradually turned into a career. Sally trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, gaining a Certificate in Dance Performance. She is able to connect with children, teenagers and adults alike - they all love her and she can get the best out of them all. Also because of her Business Management degree from Aston University she is able to move the school forward in a professional way and is very proud of Butterlfy's new pupose-made, modern studios. As chairman of the North East region of the IDTA she is able to move the Area forward and keep one step ahead.
Jennifer has danced since the age of 7 years and from the moment she started she was hooked. She took various IDTA medal tests and took part in shows and competitions across the country and enjoyed every minute of it as well as becoming an IDTA Nationwide Freestyle Champion at the Winter Gardens Blackpool. She was torn between two loves - business and dance and decided to go on and do a Degree in International Business and Technology and then a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Development whilst working on a graduate management scheme. Even though Jennifer kept dancing as a hobby and completed a YMCA Exercise to Music qualification and a YMCA Nutrition & Weight Management qualification and taught dance aerobics on an evening it wasn't enough so she decided to train as a dance teacher through the IDTA. Butterfly can now use all the skills Jennifer has accumulated along the way.
