Our school opened in 1973 with just a handful of pupils and we now have a thriving school and during the last few years we have had many pupils join the school whose mums danced with us back in the early days. I am very proud to say that my three teachers all started dancing with me at a very early age, as teenagers they became teaching assistants, have gained their teaching qualifications and are very popular teachers in our school.
We teach pupils from three years of age in our tiny tots class who then progress through the IDTA rosette system and continue on to ballet grades, freestyle medal tests, tap teams and adult medal tests. We produce a bi annual production which gives our pupils the chance to gain valuable stage experience. We are also registered with the children’s university learning destination and can sign your Childs passport to learning. Dancing is an activity that should always be enjoyed. it promotes health and fitness, develops confidence and poise and instils a general sense of well being. We believe that our pupils should enjoy their time with us, enjoying dance and music in a safe and happy environment.
