  • Jodie Leigh School of Dance opened in March 2008 when Jodie returned to England at the end of 2007 and relocated to the West Midlands to start a land based life with her husband after working for several years as a dancer on board Norwegian Cruise Lines with Jean Ann Ryan Productions.

She worked as a dancer with The Vegas Show Girls, doing various corporate and theatre events, then added teaching dance at children’s nurseries & pre-schools and as a wedding dance choreographer. However, the main focus of her time became the dance school.

Classes are held at the Bridgnorth Community Hall in Low Town. Subjects include ballet, tap and modern-jazz. Both boys and girls are welcome from the age of three upwards. Due to the success in Bridgnorth a second venue for the school then opened from October 2010 in the near by village of Highley at the Severn Centre, offering classes in ballet, tap and gymnastics to both boys and girls and a mixed dance class for toddlers/pre-schoolers in the village of Kinver.

Take advantage of the trial offer of only £1.00 per class for the first three weeks instead of the regular price. (Bridgnorth & Highley only). This gives your child chance to enjoy the classes with out making a full commitment initially.

Jodie is a qualified IDTA teacher. Examinations are offered following the IDTA syllabus. The school always achieves great exam results, with children feeling very proud of their hard work and achievements, many gaining the highest possible mark of distinction.

The school has performed several times at the Bridgnorth Children’s festival, performing on the main stage and in 2010 performed at the Bridgnorth Party in the Park. Since opening at Highley the school has performed at the Christmas Fun Days, Jubilee Fun Day and Summer Fetes. In 2015 and 2017 the school was invited to perform at the Apley Farm Shop event days

To keep parents involved and up to date with their children’s progress an informal demonstration has taken place in the winter term, giving the children chance to perform to over 400 people. We have now increase the scale of this performance, introducing costumes, lighting etc and produce a full show every two years in the summer term.
