Dr. Karen Creaney
Founded in 2011, Real Dancing is a small dance school dedicated to providing high quality coaching to students ranging from beginners to experienced dancers. We are focused on creating a positive, friendly atmosphere in which dancers can develop under award-winning teacher Karen Creaney.
Real Dancing’s aim is to provide a comfortable environment for students of all abilities. We teach Latin and Ballroom in both group classes and private lessons. We also strive to meet the requests of our students and, after high demand, have begun teaching Salsa and attending social dances as a group. The personal element has been important for the teaching success of Real Dancing, and we are committed to maintaining the small class sizes that ensure the individual
development of every student.
Real Dancing is currently expanding and will be offering more beginner classes as well as more private lessons. We also provide tailored wedding choreography to all genders, for all abilities, and in any style.

Karen qualified as a dance teacher in 2009 before going on to
win the "John Dilworth Scholarship Award" for outstanding
achievement. Out of 764 professional associates candidates,
Karen was recognised for her commitment to teaching
support and technical excellence. Soon after, she established
her own dance school with the aim of providing high quality
dance teaching in a fun environment.
She loves taking her students to local dances and helping
them to develop their style and confidence. Karen is an NHS
doctor and finds that her day job helps with her understanding
of dance physiology. Her medical background has always fed
through into her work as a dancer. She regularly achieved
high marks in her qualifications and uses her understanding of
the body to explain movement in new and insightful ways.
